Holly Socrates is an objective abstract artist best known for her serene imagery and unusual media, like charcoal and coffee. Holly Socrates uses other materials as well branching her talents to mixed media painting, drawings and most recently, hand carved block prints.

With a degree in Fine Arts and Advertising and a Minor in Graphic Design, Holly Socrates thought she would end up designing soap packages. (To the artist, that actually sounds fun.) However, like all of us, life steered Holly in a different direction. Holly Socrates worked in the Los Angeles fashion industry for over a decade. She held titles such as merchandiser, buyer, designer, and wardrobe stylist. In 2007, Holly Socrates returned to her first love, painting. After 7 years of showing and selling her artwork throughout Southern California, Holly Socrates opened her own gallery in 2014. The Holly Socrates Gallery sits on a charming corner on Main Street in downtown El Segundo, California.

Within months of opening her doors, Holly conceptualized, organized and curated the El Segundo Art Walk. The El Segundo Art Walk draws over a thousand people to the charming seaside town on the third Thursdays during the summer. Creative business throughout downtown and the Smoky Hollow district of El Segundo act as pop galleries for Los Angeles based fine artists. Holly Socrates and the El Segundo Art Walk were awarded a Commendation from the Mayor of El Segundo, Suzanne Fuentes. The El Segundo Chamber of Commerce also presented Holly with an award in honor of her achievments for the event.
